Standard Fly: Classic Tandem Flight with Matterhorn View
The Standard Fly is our classic paragliding experience in Zermatt: a tandem flight of around 20 minutes from a high take-off between 2,600 and 3,100 m, with the Matterhorn in front of you and Zermatt below. It runs all year round, in summer and in winter, and needs no experience. The whole experience takes about an hour and a half.

Our classic flight, all year round
The Standard Fly is the classic way to experience paragliding in Zermatt, and a great choice for your first time in the air. It takes off from the high launch sites used by the mountain railways and cable cars, so you start well above the village with an open view of the Matterhorn, the glaciers and the surrounding peaks.
Unlike our shorter Basic Fly, which only runs in summer, the Standard Fly is available every season. In summer you fly over green pastures and forests; in winter you glide above the snow-covered slopes of one of the best-known ski resorts in the Alps. Flights in winter are usually a little shorter, as the air is calmer.
What to expect on the day
- Meeting point. We meet at Bahnhofplatz 7, right next to Zermatt’s Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn station and one minute’s walk from the Gornergrat railway.
- Ride up to the take-off. Together with your pilot, you take the mountain railway or cable car to the take-off of the day.
- Briefing and take-off. Your pilot explains everything you need to know. Take-off is just a few running steps down the slope.
- The flight. Around 20 minutes in the air, with the Matterhorn in front of you and Zermatt below.
- Landing in Zermatt. A soft landing in Zermatt village. If you booked the photo and video package, your images go straight to your smartphone.
Standard Fly or another flight?
For a shorter, more affordable first flight in summer, choose the Basic Fly: around 10 minutes for CHF 190. If you want to fly right in front of the Matterhorn with more airtime, our best seller is the Matterhorn VIP, with around 25 minutes for CHF 300. For the highest take-off in Europe, at 3,883 m, choose the Top Fly Glacier.

Do I need any experience to fly?
No. The Standard Fly is a tandem flight: you fly attached to a certified pilot who controls the paraglider. You only need to take a few steps at take-off and landing.
How is the Standard Fly different from the Matterhorn VIP?
The Standard Fly is a classic flight of around 20 minutes with Matterhorn views, for CHF 240. The Matterhorn VIP lasts around 25 minutes and is planned to fly in front of the Matterhorn, using thermals to gain height, for CHF 300.
How is it different from the Basic Fly?
The Basic Fly is a shorter flight of around 10 minutes from a lower take-off, available only in summer. The Standard Fly takes off higher, lasts about twice as long and runs all year round.
Can I fly in winter?
Yes. The Standard Fly is available year-round. In winter, flights are usually a little shorter because thermals are weaker.
Is there an age or weight limit?

What should I wear?

What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If we cancel your flight because of weather or safety conditions, you receive a full refund, minus a 5% confirmation fee. We will always try to offer you another time slot first.
Can I get photos and videos of my flight?
Yes. Add the GoPro photo and video package (CHF 40) when you book, and your images will be transferred directly to your smartphone after landing.
